Blueberry Breakfast Smoothie

Today, I wanted to share a smoothie recipe with you that I created last weekend. I have tried several smoothie combinations and this one is in my top five favorites. I like it because it is filling and keeps me satisfied for a couple of hours. It’s packed with nutrients and it tastes delicious! It also contains a lot of food staples, so it makes it easy to make whenever I feel like having a morning or mid-day smoothie. 🙂

Pictured above: oats, cinnamon, peanut butter, flaxseed meal, vanilla protein powder, and unsweetened almond milk. I will do a post soon going into more detail as to why I use the Tone It Up protein powder, but I have been using it for three years and it has never bothered me. I have tried several different kinds of protein and Tone it Up is SO good! They have six different flavors, so they have something for everyone! I tend to lean towards the vanilla because it is so versatile but I also really enjoy the chocolate and coffee flavor as well.

Pictured above: 1 cup frozen blueberries, 1 frozen banana (I usually only use half if I’m making a smoothie just for one person) and 1 handful of spinach. I get all of my frozen fruit from Costco because it is way cheaper there, except for the bananas! I just buy them and freeze them myself. You can also freeze spinach if you want, but I tend to go through my spinach pretty quickly so it doesn’t go bad. If you do end up freezing it though, it works well when you add it to smoothies, sauces, and soups. 🙂

Here is the finished smoothie! I always top mine with some granola, coconut shavings or melted peanut butter. It’s just too good. Give it a try and let me know how you like it. Also, let me know in the comments what some of your favorite smoothie recipes are. I am always looking for new recipes to try!
