Date Night: Making Homemade Pizza
It’s pizza night here at the Lindley’s and we take it pretty seriously! 😉 Pizza and Friday nights go so well together and we take every opportunity we can get to make some homemade pizza. There are a couple of reasons why I love making pizza at home:
- It is in incredibly simple
- You can get as creative as you want with toppings!
I tend to like putting a ton of sauce, chicken and veggies on top and Kendall likes a lot of cheese, meat and veggies, so it’s a win-win for both of us! I took some pictures of us making our pizza so you could see how simple it is and hopefully it will inspire you to try making your own pizza sometime! 🙂
We start out by preheating the oven to 400 degrees and then we put the pizza stone in the oven so that it has time to warm up. After that, we start chopping any toppings we want to put on our pizza. These are the veggies I chose for this pizza this time!
Here is the sauce I made, I used some tomato paste, tomato sauce, oregano, basil, and salt. It actually turned out to be pretty tasty!Â
After dicing the toppings and making the sauce, Kendall rolls out the dough (we buy pre-made dough at a grocery store). I say Kendall because I am terrible at this part. He has a method and it works! I love this guy and his dough rolling skills. 😉
Once the dough is rolled out, we throw some sauce, cheese, meat, and veggies on top and put it in the oven for twenty minutes. I do have to admit, the waiting time is the hardest part of this whole process. haha
Here is the pizza once we pulled it out of the oven. Hello, beautiful pizza!
That is pretty much all we do! This makes for a fun/easy date night and it’s really affordable too. Let me know in the comments if you have made your own pizza before and let me know if you have any great recipes for pizza dough. I think next time I am going to make my own. 😉
Thank you for reading! Have a wonderful weekend. 🙂
